what are the pitfalls of owming a memorymoog?

if you own a memorymoog, what are the problems you run into?

and are any of them cost-prohibitive?

or based on parts that are out of production/impossible to find replacements for?

"Cost prohibitive" is a matter of perspective.

While they can be expensive to maintain, they can sound GREAT. You have to decide if the price of admission is worth it.

They CAN be overhauled to be very stable and stay in tune, but it is a lot of work. Not recommended for the novice DIYer.

As long as you don't neglect the thing, the parts will last. Especially the CEM chips.
