Grandmother how to step advance

Post by tektile » Wed Apr 03, 2019 2:05 am

I'm trying to get the external clock "step advance" mode to work on the Grandmother. I've set it to ignore external midi clock, and set the global setting for external clock input to "G0" (step advance). I am sending an irregular trigger pattern into the clock input from a TR8s, but it still keeps on running continuously.

I can clearly hear the sequencer being influenced by it, because its BPM now fluctuates. It seems like it is treating my trigger signal as a constant clock from which to derive the BPM.

Also my trigger signal should be solid. It's coming from a dedicated trigger output on the TR8s.

Did anyone get this feature to work?

This is indeed a bug, and will be solved in an upcoming firmware update.

Has this been fixed? If so, can anyone tell me how to make it work with the trigger out from a tr09? I’ve updated the firmware, set the clock in to “step advance” and tried all the PPQN settings with no luck. Nothing advances.

*I am having success using an rd8 as a trigger.
