how do you reset a pattern?

i think i have somehow saved a pattern to be missing some beats and when i just try to record over it, the pattern is still stuck in there. I'm a bit rusty and forget how to fix this. any help?

how do you erase patterns?

...as in if i want to erase everything on the M32? what should i do?

Initializing a pattern on p.27 of the manual: (Shift)+Reset+Pattern

My guess is you have to erase one pattern at a time in order to have them all blank, unless there is a sysex file which can do that
