Poor man's Orange amp?

Post by Ziela » Wed Jan 09, 2019 9:52 am

I think Orange amps are the best guitar amps available but I dont have the $2000+ for a Rockerverb 50 https://waveadvice.com/orange-amps/ , so I was wondering if there were any amps that have a similar tone quality...maybe a Sovtek or a Traynor?

Welcome to the forum :)

Joke aside, if you're willing a proper cabinet, not sure to have relevant advice. But if you're in search of an apartment compatible solution, the Tech21 analogue amp simulation Character series is worth a look - "Oxford" being the name of the Orange emulation.

Hey Ziela,

I have two Orange amps and I like your thinking  I agree Orange rocks. To me they're just the best sounding amps I've ever played (I've played and owned a few).

I have a Jim Root Terror and it has the Rockerverb tone stack, just in a lunchbox size. It's a beast! maybe 600-700 is still out of range but I thought I'd mention it.

Good luck!
