Pre filter insert on Model D reissue?

Has anyone heard of anyone installing, or know if it is possible to install in a Model D, a post-mixer, pre-filter insert a la the one on the Voyager?

that would be a neat mod, I'm sure it would not very hard to do on the D, as it's handwired just like the original
