My trusty LP Stage I suddenly started smoking yesterday. So I opened up and found a capacitor burned up, I’ve attached a reference pic. Can someone tell me what exact capacitor I should be looking for? I think I can replace it with my soldering iron.
I’m assuming C9 is the same kind as C10, but I’m not sure.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Replacing blown capacitor
Re: Replacing blown capacitor
I'm not sure about the cap value but you'll be mucking around with the power rails. This isn't something done lightly, especially since you don't know what contributed to the cap blowing.
I would recommend you take it to a proper Moog service centre and avoid hurting yourself, your Moog and of course burning down your home.
Just my thought (and I work on electronics for a living).

Yes, probably good advice. Thanks. I’m considering shipping it back to NC for repair.
Re: Replacing blown capacitor
id guess that C9 is the same as C10. id just throw another one in C9 first and plug it in and see what happens.
Plug it into a powerboard that has a trip button so it can pop if theres a short.
Id stand back from it a bit tho when i turned it on....

I don't like surface mount... but I have to work on them sometimes, maybe that's why I don't like surface mount...
