Octave trim on Minimoog D? Help!

Post by Nitrofunk » Mon Dec 11, 2017 5:49 am

Hello!
I have a Minimoog Model D (the reissue) which needs to be calibrated: When I change the osc. 2 range from, say 8' to 2', the oscillators are not in tune anymore (if both are on 8', they are).
I've followed the calibration procedure described in the Minimoogs Manual and I guess I understood the calibration of the A440 and the three oscillators. But I'm not sure if I got the osc trim board procedure right. As far as I understood it, I set osc. 1 and 2 to 2', press the highest c and tune them to each other (via the osc-2-tuneknob on the front). Then I switch osc. 1 to 8', press the same high c and tune both oscillators to each other via the oct trim trimpot on the back. What to do next? Should I go through all of the oscillators ranges (for example osc. 1: 4', osc. 2: 16') and tune them via the oct. trimpot? What does the oct trimpot do exactly?
Thanks for your help!
Peter
