Assign won't work?

Hi,

I got the M32 a few months ago, but haven't had time to really dive into it until now. I'm pretty new to the synth world so I'm not sure if this is just some misunderstanding on my part or if my Mother-32 isn't working which would be unfortunate, since I'm in Canada meaning warranty stuff would be more complicated.

No matter what I patch the Assign output into, it doesn't randomize anything. At ONE point I managed to get it to randomize the VCO 1V/OCT of a single note in a sequence, but have been wholly unable to get it to work since then in any input. Am I just missing something or is my assign broken?
