1973 Minimoog Envelope Issue

Post by torinkrell » Mon Aug 21, 2017 6:14 pm

It doesn't seem to be a good week for my Moogs. First, my Source develops an issue and now my Minimoog! My Minimoog's ADS envelope appears to have a problem shutting up - apparently the amp envelope release doesn't appear to attenuate the oscillators as it should. Are there any simple fixes for this? Should I try to reseat the corresponding card within the synth? Please advise! Help - I am for the first time in over two decades without even one fully functioning Moog!

Yes, you can try to reseat the cards in their sockets. You could also have a look at the wiring while you're at it. I've had a broken wire on mine, on the OSC 3 mixer potentiometer. There might also be some defective component on that board (a diode went bad on someone else's Minimoog in the envelope section on another forum which created a similar problem).
