CP-251 Additional 9V Insert Socket Missing?

This is a quote from a SoundonSound review of the CP-251 going way back to 2002:

"Usefully this box of tricks can function on its back or standing tall, in which case the power plug can be inserted in a second 9v socket on the base plate, a thoughtful design touch."

After close inspection, my recent purchase of the CP-251 does not include a base plate second power socket. Instead, I have a dummy black plastic insert covering the hole in the base plate were, I presume, this feature should be. Have Moog removed the second 9V socket from the CP-251 in recent production runs or, is it possible that I have been supplied with an "in-store" demo copy of this product?

I really need some clarity on this because I've ordered a MoogerFooger Rack Mount Kit for my units and, in its current state, the power supply to the CP-251 is going to be a problem for me.

Mine is like this too. I think it is easy to remove the screws and migrate the socket to the right place

Phew! That's reassuring, although I'm totally hopeless with anything involving DIY electrics - but at least I know that it can be sorted. Panic over.

Don't worry. I am hopeless with this, but I managed to follow instructions and rack mount mine. Instruction are not Ikea style (this issue is a note at the end; most focus is on how to daisy chain power among two VX-351s), but when you have the unit it in front of you, it follows quite easily..
