Sub Phatty update?

Post by misfitit » Thu Oct 20, 2016 12:10 pm

I'm curious to know if I'm missing something. The latest update I see for firmware and Editor is still may back in 2013. Is this actual? or have I missed a posted link for a more recent download?

seems kind of crazy if so.

thanks, I don't have access so I guess I'll have to wait till it's final. Any word on a working editor?

The Sub Phatty editor was released quite a while ago. Isn't it working for you?

Hm, works fine for me, always has. If you have a specific problem, I'd contact Moog support and tell them about it and supply details about your setup, versions of OS, firmware, editor, etc. You could also try starting a new thread on this forum about it. Or have you already found other posts detailing the same problem you're having?

You could also request access to the beta testers forum and give the latest beta release a try.

Does anybody know if there will be useful functionality or improvements added to the Sub Phatty in this update. One wish, poly chaining to Voyager...

yes, there are a number of posts about limited or failing USB midi connections between Sub P and editor in DAW and stand alone. The problem seems to not exist with standard 5 pin midi connection. Moog has stated that the problem would be addressed but it seems it's been the case since original release.

The editor now supports multi client IO so you can feed both the Sub and the DAW from its USB midi. This makes it a lot easier to setup as you don't need to connect the physical midi IO anymore.

Anyone got any idea about when to expect a new release of the new editor/firmware for the Sub Phatty?
Two years have passed since I sent my bugreport..

Top priority in the beta forum seems to be getting the update for the Minitaur out, after that I guess they'll continue work on the Sub updates.

What version of the Sub Phatty firmware and editor are you currently using? If you're using Windows: what driver? (On Macs you don't need to install any Moog specific drivers, but it seems this is required on Windows.)

Using the latest official drivers/firmare and editor for Windows, don't remember exactly now as i'm on a different computer, but I know I have the latest. After weeks/months of trial-and-error testing and dialoge with one of the Moog-developers, I had to give up and go over to only using DIN-midi. Then everything works. But since I do a lot of automation in my productions, using the Phatty editor directly in my DAW would be a big time saver, now I have to do everything via CC-midi.
