New Minimoog Loudness ADS Envelope ? Hmmmm.......

Post by Didge » Mon Oct 03, 2016 1:38 pm

The new Mini-Moog: Synthfest @ Sheffield Oct 1st.
Review by Philip James Manchester (aka Didge Digital) - Pro keyboard player/recording artiste for 40+ years.

THE ADS ENVELOPE: Those wonderful fat/tight bass lines are what made the Minimoog the choice of pro’s worldwide – however – the loudness envelope is not quite as tight as the original – you know the setting : ATTACK 0 DECAY 0 SUSTAIN 10 – and this will give you the fantastic ultra quick “snap-back” when you let go of the key. This was not present on the new minimoog I tried out at Synthfest ! But on the 2 original's upstairs it was "super snappy" - Possible retro-fix ?? :?

Not true, see the SOS review, where reviewer measures attack and its bang on. My model d is v snappy indeed I get the click if set to 0 attack.

I may be due to the keybed itself actually; does it "bounce" like the old one?
