Moog Satellite transformer needed

Post by Tonysal123 » Thu Sep 01, 2016 8:05 pm

Moog Satellite disassembled! And getting ready to replace all the capacitors. This is a European 220vac model, I'm in the USA so I'm also looking to changing out the transformer for 110vac. If anyone knows of any spares please let me know. Thx.

Most transformers by that time have tap wiring so they can be used for either 240VAC or 120VAC. If so, then the only other changes are the fuses. Check the schematic.

According to the schematic I found, secondary voltages are +/-16V (before the diode bridge). So you need a at least a transformer with secondary of 32V with center tap.

The schematic also does not show taps for 120/240VAC, but the Satellite was built by places other than Moog (they licensed it to Thomas Organ who contracted out the assembly) so designs may have differed.

Thanks All for your help, most appreciated. I was able to get a 110vac transformer from Josh at SynthParts. Installed & working perfectly, while in there replaced the capacitors.
