MIDI fluctuations

Post by luczak » Mon Aug 08, 2016 2:58 pm

Good evening.
I control my sub 37 with midi from a cirklon sequencer. The cirklon also controls a drum machine a bass machine and a nord stage.
Everything has been working fine until today when all of a sudden the sub 37 started running at a slower clock speed than all the other synths.
As all the others are running at the same speed it can't be the cirklon.
When I switched the sub off and started again it was ok for about two mins then it started to go slower again.
Any ideas about why this might happen.
I have recently had the filter pot changed for one of the new types.I wonder if one of my internal settings for changed.

Du you use the Sub 37 arpeggiator or sequencer for this?
Or is the Sub 37 only playing the notes it receives?
keep on turning these Moog knobs

I'm using the sequencer.

So the Sub 37 is getting its notes one by one from the sequencer in the timing set on the sequencer.
Why should a setting in the Sub 37 change the speed of notes played by the sequencer?

So recommend to double check the settings of the sequence. Maybe you changed the line speed/time factor. But I am not into the Cirklon.

Assuming the Sub37 sequencer is playing its own notes, externally SYNC'd to a ratio of the speed controlled by the cirklon sequencer MIDI clock?
And the ratio (TIME VALUE) is set to a multiple of the ARP clock division eg 1/16 note?

If you're using the NRPN C99/C98/C6/C38 thingy to control the sync clock divisions, try spreading out the time between each controller to give it a bit of breathing space.
It is possible that there may be MIDI congestion and will mysteriously fail if too much is going on at once.

See the below pic where there's a gap of 5 between one event and the next
