Had that happen to me once... my heart nearly stopped!
But I just startet the whole process again and everything was fine afterwards.

Do you have a USB hub between computer and synth? If so, try with a direct connection.

Same happened to me, the PDF in the 'Manual Install' folder says that this could happen (although I was using the OSX installer):
THE DISPLAY IS BLANK AND/OR ALL OF THE LEDS ARE LIT.
The firmware on your Sub 37 has not been updated correctly. Repeat the update procedure. Note that nothing will appear on the display until the panel firmware update is complete.
Repeating the update worked for me. I think the first time around my laptop might have fallen asleep while the update was in progress.

Ok I seem to have conflicting info and not sure whether to proceed or not.

The instructions with the software say NOT to install the USB Midi driver until the firmware updater is installed.

This comment says to install the USB Midi driver first ... and then the firmware updater.

I tried to install the USB Midi driver for windows 7.0 (v 2.23) per this comment and it kept telling me to connect the Sub 37 but would not recognize it as being connected.

Again as per this comment I then installed the USB Midi driver for Windows 8/10 ( v 3.3) and it did seem to install.

However after rereading the downloaded instructions it says run the firmware installer first so I am hesitant to proceed.

Can anyone clarify the proper order of these operations? Thanks

The new USB driver doesn't work with the previous Sub 37 firmware (v1.1 or earlier).
The only thing the USB driver gets you is multi-client USB MIDI, which you need in order to use the editor plug-in within your DAW on Windows.

So my recommendation is to do the firmware update before installing the USB driver, if the Sub 37 firmware is currently v1.1.0 or earlier. In fact, I think this may be a necessity. If you've installed the USB driver prior to updating the Sub 37 firmware, I'd recommend going to the Windows control panel and uninstalling the Sub 37 USB driver, then install the firmware update.

Sorry for any confusion; during the long beta-testing process we did a lot of firmware updates where it didn't matter if the USB driver was installed or not, since we were updating from beta firmware versions which already supported the USB driver.

That supports the documentation. I will try that Amos. Thanks for the quick response!

Uninstalled the USB driver. Ran the Firmware Updater. It took several attempts at stopping and starting the Sub 37 before the firmware install finally started. Ran for quite a while but did complete successfully. Installed the USB Midi 2.23 driver for Win 7. Installed the Editor. Changed the Midi In/Out ports and seemed to be working ok. Editor screen looks great. Tried a few of the new patches ... might be a few interesting ones in there but otherwise not overall impressive. What seems to be interesting right now is the sequencer editor ... that will be a project for another day though. Thanks again Amos and Gil for responses to question. Happy to be at 1.20 now :)

The Event Viewer on my Windows 7 machine shows two errors since I installed the USB Midi driver.
This happens everytime I turn the Sub 37 on/off or plug the usb cable in.

1. Event ID 3 , source "moogsub37midi " Failed to initialize streaming."
2. Event ID 3 , source "moogsub37midi " No current sample rate."

I would like to get rid of that message spam.
Is it possible or do I need to wait for a new driver that fixes it?

Is there any particular recommendation for those running the beta version of the Editor on MacOs? Should one uninstall it or remove it from the vst/au directories before installing Version 1.0.0 or is it unnecessary?

I've installed the betas as well. Just update to the release, the previous version will be replaced.
