I wonder if the folks on the OB6 and Matrixbrute forums are talking about how cool Moog gear is ... Damn Daniel

I'm sure they are. At least the most recently newsworthy Moog, the Mother.

You know you don't have to be brand loyal to a fault, right? Yeah. Moog makes great synths, but so do other companies. And there are those of us that want to discuss newsworthy synthesizers.

Sure the OB6 sounds great, offers some great features at a somewhat hefty price however(for a 6 voices only analog synth). I'm more impressed by Brad Ferguson from Futuresonus, a one man operation, that had the guts to start the ambitious kickstarter project (with great success) of trying to offer what bigger, and more established companies won't (for now), that is to say a modern 8 voice analog polysynth with 3 oscillators per voice, 2 filters per voice (multimode), 4 LFOs per voice, 4 envelopes per voice, with a modulation matrix, and more for under $1K. The Futuresonus Parva.

I was so impressed that I pre-ordered one (something I've never ever done in my life up to now, buying a synth without trying it first). I've figured that if Brad had the courage to start such an endeavour blindly, without any assurance that people would back him up (which they did overwhelmingly), I can certainly encourage him by purchasing the fruits of his efforts. And show the Moog Music, Dave Smith Instruments, Oberheim, Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Arturia, and all the other analog synths makers of this world that the Parva is something that I was hoping for from them (at such a reasonable price point by the way) but that never came, and probably never will (because their price point would be prohibitive).

Alain,
do you know what Kind of Filter conception he uses (Moog, Oberheim.or anything else....???) ?

Good question. I only know that there are 2 filters per voice (12 db per octave, selectable low pass or high pass) and that they can be put in series to form a 24 db/octave. My guess is that they might be OTA. I'll have to ask Brad about that...

Just confirmed by Brad: they are of the OTA design. (think Oberheim, Roland, and a few others)

Not yet. But a good friend of mine will receive his shortly (already shipped). So mine should follow soon after. As soon as I can get my hands on one, I'll let you know what I think, and probably post some samples on SC.
