all lights flashing on and off and not responsive

Post by itaco » Sat Dec 26, 2015 6:19 pm

hello...

today I've just got my worst christmas gift.... I've turned on my minitaur as usual, but all lights started to blink (osc 1, osc2, midi, lfo rate, release and glide) also makes a "click" noise together with the flashing.

someone can give me an idea of what is happening? please tell me there is a solution.

that's normal if it's in MIDI learn mode - press all four buttons to put it in this mode; send any MIDI message to learn the channel of that MIDI message (sets Minitaur MIDI channel to whatever channel the MIDI message was sent on) and take it out of this mode. Or cycle power and it should reboot in normal mode.

If the four lights are blinking, you don't need to press the buttons. The blinking is telling you, that it is in the MIDI learn mode already.
And I guess it is not receiving a MIDI signal.
What did you connect where to the Minitaur?

And just to check another thing: try to find a different PSU of the same voltage, DC, and polarity to change this with the one you use right now. Strange things may happen when the PSU is the wrong one or malfunctioning.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Hi Till...

When the light were blinking I´ve just connect the minitaur to my MIDI keyboard directly with a MIDI cable.. no response, I´ve also tried to senn MIDI messages via Ableton Live, nothing. Then I´ve tried with a different PSU with same specifications... then, lighs only blinked faster, no MIDI response.... Now my minitarur is in the shop waitng to be repaired or something. :(

Different blinking speed due to different PSU? This is really strange.
