Mooger Sounds for a Star Wars Fan Film: The Recompense

Post by Bryan B » Wed Jun 03, 2015 9:00 am

Hi guys, I was asked to create sound effects for a Star Wars fanfilm called The Recompense. I will use my whole studio to create the sounds, but here are some thruster and engine sounds that were all made mostly with MoogerFoogers (Freqbox, Ringmod and ClusterFlux). There is a KickStarter for this project that ends tonight at 8:52pm, if you want to know more about that, here is a link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tr ... =discovery

These are pretty intense, but so are thrusters and engines!

Thanks guys!

I used the Freqbox and Ringmod as VCO's and ran those to a CP-251 to mix the audio. then i sent the mix over to the Clusterflux. The rest was made by juxtaposing the 2 oscillators in a way that created texture and using as many LFO's as I could to vary some parameters via CV. I also tweaked knobs on all of them of course.

The project didn't get funded. we hit the deadline with over $13,000 of the $20,000 they needed to make the film. I don't know what they will do now, but we all need a break from fundraising right now.

Bummer about the kick starter, but you came up with something that everyone enjoys (and learned from) anyway :-) I like that!

I really enjoy sound design, so I will probably keep working on sounds anyway!

Thanks for sharing these. A very unique engine sound.

Their main score sounded amazing also.
