Re: Sub 37 chords
The short answer is no. The Sub 37 is 2 note paraphonic. You can control the pitch of each oscillator (2 of them) but you only have one set of filters and envelopes.
Re: Sub 37 chords
Unless you can count 2 notes as a chord
although i did see a video of someone faking chords on an ms20 playing arpegio and some reverb. Pretty convincing too if you use the right reverb and settings. You wouldn't want the reverb to muddy it up.

Re: Sub 37 chords
You can get 3 separate pitches if you use filter oscillation as your 3rd tone but it may not be the most fluid way to play a chord progression and your tone palate will be limited.

With a little effort you could get some interesting pad chords using those techniques. And poly chain is an option too if you have the budget for it.

Re: Sub 37 chords
I was hoping to get a third pitch so I bought a Slim Phatty but you unfortunately still have only 2 simultaneous pitches and would have to buy 2 Slims plus your 37 to get 3 pitches. So better to buy another Sub 37, that may not even be 4 pitches as you would expect, maybe someone knows for sure. I am not sure if they have any plans to adjust any firmware to change this since it appears that they would all have to be adjusted to incorporate Paraphonic into poly-chain.
See the following about this, especially Amos explaining at the end of the short thread. : http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22514

Re: Sub 37 chords
2 voice paraphonic can be enough to play a "chord"...
In a triad it's the first two notes that really determine the character of it, two pitches is enough to play a major or minor voice.
On a 3 osc synth without paraphonic capabilities you'd be able to tune the 3oscs to make a triad from hitting one note, but then you'd need to retune the 2nd osc every time you wanted to play a minor instead of a major.. so I think this lets you be a lot more impulsive..?

Ahem, may I remind you that we're talking about pad chords here, folks ?
Can't play any kind of pad chords with only two notes played by a single voice paraphonic synth, even with tons of external reverb effect added !
For quality pads sounds you need at least a minimum of 6 voices (8 is better to avoid voice stealing artifacts). Unfortunately, Moog doesn't offer yet a polyphonic synth. So your best bet would be something else than a Sub 37 for pads.

Re: Sub 37 chords
Maybe some sort of harmonizer pedal?
adding phattys or sub37's to get pads seems like a lot of $$$ and work for a single sound!

Animoog into any Moog's Audio In is a neat way to get pads.
Just send MIDI from your Moog to an iOS MIDI Interface.
