Voygaer Rack OSC 1 & 2 + MOD BUS dead! Analog Board Replace?

Post by Jonney » Fri Feb 20, 2015 11:23 am

.

Hey All, This is my first post here as you can see....So I will keep it short and quick..

My 2007 Moog Voyager Rack was turned of for over a year, Turned it on last week and worked perfectly.... Sold it on Ebay, Turned it on before buyer arrived and this is the situation:

OSCILLATORS 1 & 2 completely not working!... With MOD BUS P source set to OSC 3 and destination FILT. you can hear OSC 3 (kind of) but other than that its silence.

MIXER section totally not working. Lights work tho..

Tried full factory reset and nothing. Check the connections inside and all seems tight and sturdy!

I know next to nothing about building / repairing synths but I am pretty good at soldering and I am not a compete idiot :) I narrowed this down to just being the Analog Board being replaced, Called the UK distributor to repair it ( costs between 200-400 UKP depending on the problem) ...

My question is, Before I send this off, Is there anything I can try from here? Any method that might get it working as I find it hard to believe working can go to not working without incident... But its not impossible i suppose.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jonney

Hi,

I know "next to nothing" about MIDI transmission.
Can you describe how everything is interconnected,
so I can learn something here...
tank you !

Welcome Jonney.

If the serial number of your RME is between 1330-1925, I would strongly suggest contacting Andy Hughes, or his assistant Nick Montoya, of the Moog Music Customer Support team and tell them by email. But even if it's outside that serial numbers range, you can still ask their advice about your failing RME.

Here are their email addresses:

Best of luck to you.
