Firmware update MF-105M?
I am loving the Midimurf, it is a central point of my setup. The pattern editor is vital to me.
I find that I can't load stored patterns from my computer. The patterns are stored without an extension, could this be the key to the problem? Is there a simple workaround or is this a firmware issue?
Fixing this would be a huge timesaver for me. I remember reading that others have experienced this too... anyone?
I use a mac OSX 10.6.8 (old, i know)
Thanks

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Re-reading my question I think that it is primarily a software issue, rather than a firmware issue. So I see that now.
Still think it would be ACE if it worked though, would still like to know if this affects others

I now found this, from a thread in 2010
http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.ph ... 292#p73292
No answer from soundtower yet?

The firmware has bugs too that make using it live a real pain in the butt...

I too would really like to see these bugs gone!

Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

I never used a TRS cable with the Murf, I just use it as EQ/drum machine. But I can see how that would be annoying too.
I sent a mail to the software people but I haven't heard anything yet. Was hoping somebody from Moog could tell me if any update to the software was planned.
*Edit, @alien8, are you using one of these?

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Nope, I just use a stereo to mono Y cable. The adapter simply routes the tip signal from the step
pedal / input signal to the ring terminal. The Moog adapter is a much more elegant way to do it.
If you read the threads, others are having the same "have to unplug and replug when you change patterns" issue using the Moog Adapter. I'm also experiencing the save uses as you do. I'm on OS 10.8.

Hoping that SoundTower fixes their (rather) sketchy software editor is like hoping that Republicans and Democrats will all get along.
Hate to be the harbinger of bad news, but if your editor is not working to your liking, it probably never will. That's the nature of SoundTower. You'll note that Moog is doing all their newer editors in-house now.

I don't see why it should be so difficult to implement small changes to address the bug I mentioned? Hardly a huge programming challenge?
Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Not to beat a dead horse, though SoundTower has a terrible reputation for making even simple changes to their software. Check out any of the threads here and on other manufacturers websites where this is documented time and time again.

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
I was OP on the 2010 post. I never heard back from soundtower even after numerous emails back to them. After about a year I gave up hope...
It's sad too because you can get some pretty gnarly patterns...

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Yeah, this is actually a big piss-off for me. The reason I purchased the Midi version was to be able to program and save presets. The more I use it lately, the more I want to do this, only to find that I have to take a screen shot of the preset and reprogram it if it's not saved to the unit.
I see they have a Facebook profile. Maybe we would voice our upset at the poor function publicly so everyone can see the lack of support / not releasing completed & tested software.

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
For the record, I also sent them an email through their website and haven't heard anything back.
Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Also for the record, I have done Beta testing for them (for another manufacturer) and they will fix perhaps 10% of really important bugs, and if that's not bad enough, they'll take a year and a half to do it. And then come online and publicly bad-mouth their very own hard working Beta testers. BTW, SoundTower is pretty much just one person, Mark. You can email him all you want and get nada, zilch, silence in return. Try leaving public feedback on his Facebook page and see how long it takes for him to kick you off his 'Friends' list...
Moog has done the wise thing and kicked SoundTower out of any future editor work possibilities. They do all their editors in-house now.

Re: Firmware update MF-105M?
Try searching for extension .murf.
That is the extension in WinXP, don't know if they use the same in Mac OS.
