Minitaur - To Unplug Or Not To Unplug

Post by ARNK » Sat Oct 11, 2014 2:07 pm

Just wondering, do you unplug the Minitaur after use or keep it constantly on? Does Moog have a recommendation..

I bought a $5 powerstrip with a switch, and use that to turn it off.. figures it reduces the wear of pulling that plug in and out.

I plug the Minitaur's wall-wart into a power distribution unit (power strip) along with other synths/effects units and then turn the power strip off when I am done in the studio. I never leave wall-warts plugged directly into the wall 24/7 because they heat up and I worry about them burning out. Don't know if it matters or not, but that's what I do.

I wondered what to do about this when I 1st got it. I've been pulling the plug out. Not sure why I didn't think to plug it into my power strip rack unless I ran out of room. Thanks for reminding me to look into this.

Why is there no power switch on this thing any way? Cost savings? Does Moog expect folks to keep it on 24/7?
