Reloading System 3.6 on Voyager XL

Post by lockeness » Thu Jan 02, 2014 3:10 pm

Is there version 3.6 online? The Moog Voyager sound editor only updates to 3.5.

My Voyager XL has stop sending any audio. The keys still send midi signal. I'm afraid I may have jacked up my software and am looking to reset to factory.

I'm using a Macbook Pro and PreSonus Audiobox USB midi interface.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated. I've finally got a space I can jam out in. I turn on my Moog and NOTHING!

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,
I don't know why Moogmusic removed the software for the XL - here you can download the 3.6 for the XL:
http://www.moogmusic.de/Voyager_keyboard_3_6.zip

Please reload the files in this order:

MASTER menu Receive Update
Send file "bank_A_360.syx" to the XL

The Voyager will ask for Bank C...
Select "YES" and send the file "bank_C_360.syx" to the XL

The Voyager will ask for Bank D...
Select "YES" and send the file "bank_D_360.syx" to the XL

Then the normal operating system should start.
Go to MASTER menu Receive Update
Send file "bank_B_360.syx" to the XL

The Voyager will ask for Bank D...
Again select "YES" and send the file "bank_D_360.syx" to the XL

That should work!

Have fun,
Rudi

But, you could also be local off in the menu and it will ignore the keyboard.

Hi "Just me",
in an other thread he wrote: "EG, there is no longer a Copyright Info and several menu items are marked **** RESERVED ****".

So ,I think, he deleted Bank D of the operating system.

I lost track of the difference of 3.6 firmware compared to the normal Voyager's 3.5 firmware. What was changed?
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16

The link above, for OS 3.6, is now dead. Could anyone please tell me where I might get this now.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds iike maybe local control has been turned off. I have found that when i boot up my Cakewalk Sonar program while the Voyager is already on, Cakewalk sends some sort of CC message telling the voyager to disable local control... it's annoying but when i manually re-enable local control in the "Master" menu, all is well. Perhaps something in your midi chain is sending out unwanted instructions to disable local control.
