My 1996 visit to Big Briar

Post by MC » Fri Oct 10, 2014 12:57 pm

Back in 1996, I visited Big Briar (Bob Moog's business before he won back the Moog Music Inc. trademark) to inquire about the Lintronics Minimoog MIDI retrofit they used to sell. I brought along my RA Moog Minimoog, and the staff had never seen one that old. It was one of the first fifty built in Trumansburg back in 1970. They called Bob over to look at it - Bob had not seen one of those Tburg Minimoogs in a LONG time.

Or maybe I'm having a feeling of "Déjà vu" ?

What a wonderful picture! I went to a sythfest in NYC around that time (an event that later possibly became Moogfest) and had the pleasure to have a long talk with Bob Moog. He was such a kind and modest man!

Haha, silly me ! I've found where I had seen this great picture of you and dear Bob, it was on your Analoguediehard web site ! (under the very interesting R.A. Moog Minimoog section)

Sorry for my confusion Michael.

Very cool.
Thanks for sharing.
Music can Name the Unnamable and Communicate the Unknowable.

'I am... everything is... changed... they're calling... your face... interwoven... who is...' Patient mumbles inaudibly to a tune (sounds like 'Thanks for the memory).

I hope you still have that Minimoog.

I would say that you look a bit different than when I last saw you. But I looked a hell of a lot different in 1996, too. :)

Still have that Minimoog, Marc. Could had brought it to the museum last spring, but Roger Luther already had his there and it's older than mine.
