Here is a piece of ambient music I did on the Korg Poly-61 (shaping up to be my favorite poly out of all I have owned). As summer draws to a close, I wanted to do something that would evoke the cool comfort of a midsummer night that I will miss so much over the cold portion of the year. This is the result.

I quite like this, Kenneth. What do you like about the Poly-61 (compared with, say, the Polysix that you had before)? I saw one in Kyoto this summer, but its state of repair was unknown and it wouldn't have fit in my luggage anyway.

I think it has more of a focused sonic character than the Polysix. The sort of gritty, eerie sound of the Polysix is present in the 61, only more intense. The filter is very lo-fi, and the dual-oscillator design makes it much more versatile. Also, the Poly61 envelopes are quite snappy, unlike the sluggish ones found on the Polysix.

Loving the music shared here!

I finally posted some noodling. I'm completely shocked by what a ClusterFlux can do. Combined with a MuRF and a FreqBox. The notes generated are the Clusterflux, nothing else.

Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

My first contribution back to the synthesizer video community - the synth brass intro from the opening theme to Blade Runner on the Moog Sub 37 + MF-104M.

Hi folks,

I did this Sunday morning jam a while back and realised that I never posted it in this forum. I used my Voyager, DSI Tempest, Juno 106 (modified with the Kiwi 106 upgrade) and an Octatrack.

It was a one-take jam, complete with a few warts here and there. Hope you like it :)

Fun Jam.
i wonder how many Tempest owners are on the Forum.
Great production tool, it can be as simple or as deep as you like.

Thanks Brian.

Yes indeed, the Tempest splits opinion and induces love/hate around many forae. Personally I love it. It's depth is a blessing and a curse!

Apparently there is an update coming in October, though whether this is just the age-old promised sounds/beats/projects or an OD update remains to be seen.

What makes the situation worse is that DSI have seriously under-resourced its development. There's only one dev for all their OS fixes / updates and he's been pulled in all directions as they release new products, so the old ones get left out in the cold for long periods of time.

Anyway, I can still make music with it NOW!

Who needs a 303 if the sub 37 can be also so agressive.

I just jammed a bit with sub 37 and sub phatty

An update would be nice, does quite a bit as it stands now, but some additions and refinements would be nice. With only having one primary programmer I think they do pretty well. I am a fan of DSI gear, lots of great features and work well with other synths.

Did not use the Tempest on this but did use the Prophet 12, 08, two Voyagers, Model D and Little Phatty.
Just a quick live recording into WaveLab 8

Yes, Pym / Chris is a bit of a robot - juggling all those OS's in the air :)

Nice version of the ol' classic there! Makes me miss my Little Phatty, which was part of my trade to get a signature maple voyager. The Phatty is so playable and I love the overdrive sound - which is so immediate and responsive as if shredding on a guitar. I've tried many things but I just can't reproduce this on the Voyager - even with the external audio in loop, moogerfooger drive etc.

I am considering a Sherman Filterbank.

While doing some filing, I came across this small demo when I first got my Voyager Old School back in 2008. It's the very first thing I recorded with it.

Enjoy.
