Just ordered a Moog MF104m :) Patch-spiration

Post by Sofine » Thu Feb 13, 2014 8:41 am

So excited. Also ordered a Koma FT201 filter / sequencer ( I used to own one but sold it a while back).

So, my moogie collection will be

Little phatty stage 1 with Kenton Pro Solo 2 midi > CV
MF102
MF103
MF104m
MF107
Koma FT201

Any suggestions / inspiration on interesting patches / setups?

I really like the idea of sending drumbeats and loops through this analogue mindfield.

I plan to use the aux sends on my Mackie 1642 VLZ3 with delay coming back into 1 track, the phaser back into a stereo track and the rest as returns. Working out the routing is always a headwreck!

Look forward to any comments,

Cheers.

Congrats! You're going to love the delay. Especially if you like your other foogers.

Since you use your MF-103 in stereo, it may make this difficult, but I'd recommend looking into parrellel mixing for the delay. You basically take you dry signal before the delay and blend it with your wet. I like to keep one side with a higher mix and lower dry, then do the exact opposite with the other side. It helps the delay feel wider with more clarity and makes for a more interesting mix.

You need more CV control, IMHO. I am only working with 3 foogers including the cp-251, and with the mp-201 pedal (so amazing), there is just endless possibilities. But for now, an attenuated sample and hold source into the delay time is an awesome random pitch fluctuations/tape delay effect.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Unfiltered37, I forgot to mention that I do have a CP251 as well as the kenton pro solo!

Yeah facon, I plan to start off using the mf104m in an aux-return FX loop to mix it with the dry signal - if I want it fully wet I can always mute the dry signal

Be sure to use the effects loop in the delay. :D
Music can Name the Unnamable and Communicate the Unknowable.

'I am... everything is... changed... they're calling... your face... interwoven... who is...' Patient mumbles inaudibly to a tune (sounds like 'Thanks for the memory).

Thanks guys.

Yes, the effects loop will be one of the first areas of exploration. I will put the Koma FT201 and other moogerfoogers to good use here

These vids pushed me over the edge :)
