Cluster Flux question
Cluster Flux question
I'm considering getting a Cluster Flux, mainly for the stereoization and reverb it offers. Can the controls be adjusted so that it gives you the reverb without having any chorus/flange effect?

Hi Kosis, and welcome to the forum
The ClusterFlux doesn't offer reverb. It's hard, I know

But the stereoization you can make with it is delicious.

Re: Cluster Flux question
I read a couple reviews which mentioned a light plate reverb could be dialed in somehow.

I don't have a CF, but I have a 104 delay, and yes, you can get reverby sounds with high speed delays and long feedback. I use it all time because I don't like digital reverb. I'll throw it on an aux bus for drum kit, or feed it to a speaker with room mics to create a chamber type effect. Anyway you do it, the BBD's are going to sound great with almost anything.

Oh I did not get that, sorry.
Indeed, fast delay and high feedback lead to a kind of reverb, more roomy than platey I would say.
But then the feedback setting needed for you chorus or flanger would only be reachable if you break the setting for the reverb. I mean this is not a multieffect but rather a quite parametrable device capable of several types of effects.

Re: Cluster Flux question
I never thought of the ClusterFlux as a reverb type unit. So I tried it out just now and yes, when set to 'chorus', setting the delay somewhere between 6 and 10, mix at 12:00, and a light amount of feedback, you will get anywhere from 'slapback' echo, to a mushy, smeared sound depending on your settings.
And yes, if you're using it in this way, you cannot get other types of chorus or flange at the same time.
