Rackmount kit

Post by Atomicunderware » Mon Jan 20, 2014 9:55 pm

I've been planning to pick up a rackmount kit for some time, and have just found one second hand on-line. I am going to ask the seller if it is complete, but I need to know what should be included in the kit. Any info would be appreciated.

i don't think it comes with anything, you will just need your own rack screws.

I thought there were some wood pieces to connect the pedals together, which you use in place of the standard wood cheeks.

The kit has:

1 metal frame.
8 or 10 (don't recall exactly, might be more) screws & lock nuts to fill the holes on one moogerfooger (after you remove the side wood cheeks).

You need to remove the 4 rubber feet on the fooger & use the 4 screws to mount them to the frame.
You need a rack and screws to attach the frame to the rack.

If I recall correctly, the only wood you get with the voyager expander rackmount for the CP / vx style enclosure.
Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

Thanks for that. So in fact you do have to remove the sides from one of them, but there are no replacements as with the cp/vx kit? Good to know.

Not sure if you got the full answer; but the MF rack mount kit:

remove right end cheek from LEFT Fooger (insert 4 screws/locknuts in the holes)
remove left end cheek from RIGHT Fooger (insert 4 screws/locknuts in the holes)
place center fooger in the middle, as is (with wood on both sides)
... if just mounting outside footers (LEFT and RIGHT) you can leave wood on both

And just for information; CP rack:

if mounting both, remove all end cheeks, place screw/locknuts in outside holes
use fancy wood block that came with the CP kit (mind didn't!) and attach between with wood screws

if mounting just one, remove the 'inside' end cheek, place screw/locknuts in outside holes

I have the 'fooger rack kit set up now.

Today I received a second hand vx-351/cp-251 in the rackmount. It came with no manuals or anything. My question is - where is the 9v input? I can't see anything on either unit, all holes are plugged. Does the power come from the Voyager via the cable?

The Voyager powers the VX, the CP needs a wall wart PS. On the CP, the PS jack is on the back side, just behind the first O in Fooger.

From what I can see the cp is linked to the vx - there is no input on the cp, it seems to have been piggybacked from the vx. They didn't ship it with a serial cable, so I wont know until I get one if that's the case...here's hoping.
