Wow! I love my Sub, but man I want one of these to go with it! I wonder if I could hook them together and get 3 notes? I bet so.

This is exactly what I have been waiting for. This could be the best thing since the model D. Talk about an aggressive synth: feedback, multidrive, osc sync, 1 or 2 pole setting, with a sub oscillator. Pure excitement.

Don't forget that the LittlePhatty was discontinued. That leaves that chassis available for this instrument if the engineers so chose. The mock-up image posted a few replies up might not be a far stretch from what we'll see. Only time will tell though.

I wanted to thank whoever is posting as "Moog Music" for the original post of this thread -- I appreciate you uploading that PDF document of the front panel skin for the Sub37. You were kind enough to provide it using Vector imaging inside the document, which has allowed me to zoom in to extremely high levels. Through this, I will be making some desktop backgrounds for the community based off of the content in the document. I will create a new thread for them once I am done, with links to the images provided.

You did…. but it's not. It's paraphonic. Which means (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) that you can play every note on the keyboard at the same time BUT they share the same EG, filter and VCA. Although it may this may be very limiting for some people, I find paraphonic synths very playable. My Roland VP-330 is paraphonic, it takes a bit of getting used to.

You can do that on the Sub Phatty. In fact, before the OS update, I kept accidentally doing that and screwing up my sounds. You had to hit the right combination of preset buttons and low keys on the keyboard to change the poles.

It's really nice to see those (and others like the extra EG parameters) surfaced right on the panel. COmbined with 37 keys and this could be great, as long as it's not $2000+. I'd happily drop $1500 for this, but I suspect it'll be $1899 or so and start approaching voyager pricing.

Thank you for posting this. This update looks to address the major shortcomings of the Sub Phatty (which I also love), and adds some great features (second LFO, apr, sequencer?, and more presets. Looks like a real winner. I love my Sub Phatty (despite the tiny keyboard) and so now I'm GAS'ing for this :D

Here's hoping for some aggressive pricing! :)

Ok, I'm really excited by this one I must say. The more I look at the panel the more I... Come on.

Seconding that. Thanks guys :)
Kenneth wrote:I wasn't particularly taken with the Sub Phatty, but this basically resolves every issue I had with it. Duophony, super-versatile arpeggiator, extended keyboard, semi-unconventional envelopes, TWO LFOs, and did I mention it's DUOPHONIC??? PLEASE CAN I HAVE ONE RIGHT NOW????
The keyboard size factor stopped me as well. Now this one has serious advantages to me:
- 37 keys
- 2 oscillors paraphony flavour
- arpegiattor which, from what I see, can be used as a mini-sequencer
- 2 mod busses with pitch and filter destination hardwired + another destination
- flexible rate for LFOs
- superheroe's envelopes
- Although it seems to have a screen, filter slopes, legato, note priority etc settings are on the panel!!
- The panel button is here to use it as a good ol' vintage.
- Few presets: I keep on thinking that using less presets contributes to building a sonic identity, especially in a band. (I suspect it has more than 16 actually)
- EDIT: seeing the "PGM" on LFO source and destination selectors, one can think of extended modulation possibilities with respect toi the panel. Olala...
- EDIT: plus being a "Tribute" model, one can hope for wood sides. Ok, I have to get away from this picture now!
- EDIT: the glide can be activated for either or both oscillators...
I just hope it has CV capabilities, but I'm interested anyway. Can't wait to see it in action!

Bravo Moog! :)

Aaah! Our patience will be rewarded! I was saving for the Sub anyway, now I can wait a bit (? :D) longer. Don't mind the 29 vs 37 too much but the new features look great, looking forward to see this product unfolding, thanks for posting.

i think they should have labeled it "Duo-Paraphonic" to prevent any confusion. because when i think paraphonic and moog, i think the mg-1 and opus 3 which allowed you to play EVERY note at once, this just gives you TWO notes at once.

unless im wrong about that...
