No midi and error message: LPUSB INVALID SEND LPUSB SYX

Post by HECTRUSO » Tue Jan 10, 2012 8:40 am

Hello every body,
my LP shows this message LPUSB INVALID SEND LPUSB SYX wen I turn it on.
Since it appears on the screen it receives no midi so I'm trying to play it with a sequencer
with no success.
Anyone has had the same problem???
what to do?

this is the kind of problem that moog tech support is there to handle, contact them if the following files don't work.

but first, here's the USB firmware sysex file for Little Phatty:
http://seamslikereality.com/moog/LP_USB_v33.zip

and here's the USB firmware sysex for Slim Phatty:
http://seamslikereality.com/moog/SLIM_USB_v34.zip

try sending that file via USB to the Phatty... it might fix the problem.
seems to work better from a PC than from a Mac, in my experience so far.

Hi Amos!

Thanks for the reply, I have tried uploading the files with no luck. Trying both a pc and mac, it seems the phatty and computer do not talk. I have emailed moog but have not recieved a reply yet.

Do you think it is possible to us a silicon laboratories USB debug adaptor? What exactly does it do, I have seen a video where the guy greatfuly quotes you as the person who helped him.

Thanks in advance

A

does the Phatty show up as MIDI device on the computer at all?
If not, you may actually need a new USB board, which is relatively inexpensive as replacement Phatty parts go (sub-$50) or we'll replace it under warranty if within the warranty period.

The USB Debug adapter is about $35 last I checked; might want to compare cost of the debug adapter to cost of a replacement USB board from Moog, and decide which is the better value for you. We can help you either way.

Hi all! Did anyone figure out a fix? I just got the LPUSB message. Do I just need a new Field upgrade part for stage to stage ii? Or firmware upgrade? Both?

The LP works perfectly except for the message on start up. I still wanna stick to the LP. Not too sold on the new moogs... yet anyway

Started with a Theremin. Now I'm here.
