I've always wanted that feature for the stage! Local keyboard control off, but sent via midi, while the knobs control the phatty, CCs preferably not sent (or toggle-able). It would be a huge power up in my LP+OT setup.

Here's how it's working:
- When local control is OFF, you can only control the internal knobs if you allow them to send MIDI to the DAW/App/Software you're using. When local control is OFF you can't control the keyboard/knobs directly, and you control it via MIDI. Some of you may like this, but I don't like stuck with 7-bit MIDI.
- If you use MIDI OUT Filter and allows only the passage of the keyboard notes, you can't control the Sub Phatty over MIDI, and you don't get any kind of sonic change while moving the knobs. I don't think this is a bug with my own Sub, but let me know if it is!

What am I looking for:
- A solution that makes the LOCAL CONTROLL OFF only for the key part, while being able to control the Sub's knobs to alter parameters in real time. This would be the best solution for using external arpeggiators just to have some fun with the Sub Phatty.

:)
I see. I incorrectly assumed the panel changes were direct, where as they are in fact routed via the DAW when in local control OFF mode. You are looking for a solution for hardware arpeggiators for example, which don't loop control midi data. Apologies. :)

Don't worry! I didn't express myself very clearly. :)

I'm looking forward for this. Maybe Amos will apply it to the Stage too (wich I also have!).

Cheers!

Hello,

I have some problems with the Pitch Bend, It make some jump when I try to make risers with Automation instead of being smooth but when I do it manually it don't.

Anyone having this problem ?

If it''s possible it would be nice to be able to map the pitch bend because it's the only parameter that can't be mapped on the Editor ( would be interesting to be able to make pitch bend automation from the Editor directly and to be able to map it with M4L).

Thanks

Hello, Long Time Browser, first time poster.
Love the Sub, problem is just tried first system update, 1.4.1 with C6 sys ex tool, and now all i have is a blinking LFO, tried reloading 1.4.0, tried reloading C6, tried known good usb cables ...nothing.
C6 shows the sub as midi out, followed instructions as per text file, no hub. Running Mac OS X.

Also, any chance the headphone out will ever be independent to the master volume?

Cheers from Northern BC

This question was answered earlier in this same thread.

In short, no, because...
Amos wrote:MuzzFuzz:the headphone level is a passive control, and it is indeed wired in series after the master volume. This was a cost-saving maneuver as it reduces the number of VCA circuits, versus having fully-independent main-output and headphone levels. The Sub Phatty retails for a decent amount less than the Little Phatty, and this difference in the output section is a part of that cost/value equation.

Thanks Amos, I appreciate that. All the other synths I've had either had independent controls or one for both.

It's not deal breaker as I'm finding more and more that I'm listening via my audio interface anyway. It's just something that came up as I've been trying out each firmware update.

Hi DUBMCT, thanks for posting.

Blinking LED is good, that means the boot loader is alive and well and we should be able to get some firmware in there... maybe try SysEx Librarian instead of C6? be sure to turn the power to the sub phatty off and back on before re-sending the firmware, too.

http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/

before you send the firmware using SysEx Librarian, go into its Preferences, to the Transmit Speed tab, and set the Transmit Speed for the Sub Phatty device to 50%. (you have to connect USB from the Sub Phatty to your mac, then launch sysex librarian and check the prefs, to be sure you see Sub Phatty listed as an output device).

Let us know if this gets it going or not... best wishes!

Amos

Oh, about the headphone output -- it's after (and dependent on) the main output; this is a part of the hardware design and can't be changed. Sorry about that! (It did help keep the cost down a bit...)

i don't know if it was just my particular OSX and machine combinations but ~ SysExLibrarian has worked flawlessly for me on both 10.6.8 and 10.8.4 so I stuck with it throughout ALL the updates on all instruments

Sysex worked like a charm, and the update sounds great, the NOISE is awesome now.

Cheers, and Thanks

only the response curve of the mixer volume pots is changed.
however, the new volume curve makes the noise more usable, because it doesn't start to overdrive until a higher level now.
overdrive sounds great on oscillators, not as good on the noise.

Hello,

So there is still this problem about Filter and Amp Multitrigger and Reset which refuse to work correctly ( The SubP ignore changes from active to inactive , sometimes a initialize preset can fix this but not always) and sometimes the SubP refuse to accept higher note, only accept lower.

I had some problem with connection getting completely loosed too but it didn't make the usb disconnected noise from Windows and I need to make a Sub P reboot to solve it.

That was the first thing I noticed as well when the pots behavior changed (to something better imo)

are there certain presets which consistently have this problem (multitrigger)? if so, please email those presets to me.

Thanks!
