New Moog Guitar

Does anybody know when the new Moog guitar is coming out?
It hasn't been posted on the site yet, but the current version is no longer available.
Does anybody know what the changes/improvements are going to be?

I chatted with the gentleman at Moog when I ordered an E1 a couple of weeks ago (it's sitting in a box now, I'll finally have time to hook it up this week).

I believe:

a) they made a little over a thousand
b) they are almost completely sold out, with some options gone
c) major retailers are entirely sold out (guitar center didn't have a single one in California, Sweetwater has none)
d) there are no plans for a new one in the near future

I think it was nearly impossible to do something this challenging and revolutionary, design-wise, and get it to the playing masses at a viable price, once you hit 3K usd, you really rule out almost everyone except working pros and the very rich.

This isn't unusual in the history of design, only a hundred or so Flying Vs were originally made, IIRC. Bold new designs are often commercial failures. That doesn't diminish the achievement of the designers one bit, of course, and often makes these things more special and collectible as items.

The other thing to bear in mind is that Paul Vo, the innovator of Moog guitar, is currently working on his Acoustic Synthesis version = Vo96 which is installed in the guitar of your choice is around $1545 as one option.
