That was funny  Frozen mod section, that's what it is. Sorry about the comment, I just could not let this one go.
I'm confused - I really mean that it could be just slightly less sensitive. I like modulation! :) I was just hoping that it wouldn't jump quite so quickly. I've been using analog synths for 17 years - this one just jumps a bit quicker than I'm used to. like 0 - 60 in a Ferrari vs a VW Beetle. I probably used the word vibrato incorrectly, after reading my previous comment. I'd like just a bit more of a knob turn to go into heavy LFO depth.

I should have worded that better before! :D

Maybe I interpreted wrong too... but assuming your Minitaur is working correctly, I am still unclear about your saying. The Minitaur mod section amount sensitivity curve is about on par with any other synths I know. Well maybe a bit sharper. I don't use the editor but I think there's something in it to help the matter.

At the panel level, you can use the EG amount combined with VCF sustain level to tame modulation to a sensitivity closer to what you are looking for.

I am really not into midi.. long discussion...matter of taste, let's not go into that... but...

The minitaur is midi, and Midi is flexible. You must have a controller of course to play the Minitaur, so you probably have a spare knob to program mod amount range just to your liking.

I am writing at large, not specifically to you since you already are a skilled synth user.

i get it... a more gradual curve in the mapping of knob position to LFO depth! I will look at this.

I've made excellent progress on all of the instability bugs (panel controls freezing, output stopping until reboot) - I think this is 100% fixed.
I'm running some tests overnight, then I should know for certain.

More soon,

Amos

Independent midi CC control for the release (vca and vcf) would be great.

Thanks again,

Thanks all! Update is - all lockup-type bugs are fixed now. :)
I want to sort out a couple more things before posting an update:

1) LFO clock sync + rate knob behaviour

2) Release switch + Decay/Release knob behavior.

I'll get these things working nicely and should have a new firmware file posted tomorrow...

cheers,

Amos

Hey, sorry, I had to spend yesterday getting the Sub Phatty Editor/Librarian ready for beta testing...
so the LFO Rate / MIDI Clock sync stuff is not finished yet...

but here is a version with the more egregious bugs fixed:
http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/mi ... pr2013.syx

This is actually a reversion to the production firmware, with bug fixes...
so no updates to Release On/Off behavior or LFO Rate behavior in this version,
but all the controls work 100% of the time. :)

Further updates and fixes will continue, but this should be quite playable in the meanwhile.
LFO and Release fixes are next on my list.

Thanks Amos!!

I have only a question; should I delete the "Minitaur_fw_v2_0_0.syx" to instal the new update?

You may as well delete the old file; there's no reason to keep it.

to install the update you must first power on in boot-loader mode, then send the "erase firmware" sysex command, then send the new firmware. I don't remember if I posted full instruction in this thread already, or not... they're definitely in the REV2 update documentation, if you need a reminder...
