Sound bank Problem

Post by DavyP » Tue Jan 22, 2013 11:44 am

Not sure if this is a hardware or a software issue.

I did search for this and have been attempting for several hours to get the sounds working but no luck.

I did a software update to my voyager RME. I did not back up my sounds prior to this.

None of my sounds are there now (obviously as I was a numpty and overlooked the backup). I tried init sound and I get nothing, just a click.
I tried restore factory sounds and nothing worked.

Ive downloaded the sound bank but have no idea where in the system menu i go to perform the update.

Id appreciate any help thanks.

Davy

Just to add prior to updating only some of my sounds where working, i.e. those that did not require the bandpass filter, this is why i mentioned a possible hardware issue. I am happy I followed the update instructions(apart from the back up part!) and the software is installed correctly. I had considered the lowpass filter may be faulty. I can get noise form some presets but nothing much else.

I guess it's a hardware issue and has nothing to do with the software.

Thanks for the reply. I think that could be the case. Off to the menders then for my voyager and a good excuse to add a Sub Phatty to the collection.

You load the factory soundbanks the same way as the update. Through SYSEX. To see if you have a hardware issue, go to real panel parameters and twist the knobs. Don't need presets there.
