Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
Sounds like a nice gem. I hope the sound is spiced in a similar way too - Moog has a name that is associated with just one thing: The sound

Now I'm afraid at what they might do for the 100th Anniversary of the Theremin coming up in a few years.

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
I can't wait to see this....I'm sure it's lovely but $15,000 for a TEN year anniversary? That's pretty opulent, even for Moog, don't you think?
Especially when I can think of a 110 space modular system that costs less than that...

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
It's probably the gold that will be worth at least $10K, not the Voyager.
I couldn't find anything about that on their web site tho...

I'll echo the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film Predator when he sees that other beast up close: "You're one ugly motherfocker !"
I really don't dig the "western saloon" lines on the sides... Only my personal opinion, though.
Thanks for the pics, and heads-up about it still, Khatru2u !

$15,000 for a cabinet and cache? That is a lot of Buchla, DotCom or topline recording gear that is going to sound different than the 10th Anniversary unit that will sound the same as a $3000 Select series. But there are people who will buy them. Seat for every bung and a bung for every seat.

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
When I read Larry Robinson was doing the inlays, I pictured something like this...
It would look nice with this:
That Voyager is going to be a fingerprint magnet. The lines remind me of a billiard table.
And 15k will get you a SMALL Buchla lololol

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
Actually, Eric, if you looked at his site, I sort of like the fish that he did as inlays on the fretless (must be bass) neck. But I question how it would sound; MOP vs. the wood of the neck?
One of the guitars has piano laid out across the back. Incredible work. Having seen the pic posted, I guess it's just the Steam Punk outline and the #10 that is the Inlay?

Wow, that thing is pretty ugly..
Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
This is some kind of joke, right?
I keep looking at the calender to see if it's April 1st.
I don't understand the thought process here.
It has to be a joke, why would they waste their time on something like this?

Re: Very interesting from Sweetwater
Well part of it is fake/a joke for sure. Outside of the fact that the purple illuminated logo doesn't match the color scheme of the Steam Punk front/gold pic; the aspect ratio of the logo is too square considering that the panel is tilted back.
Oh, and then there is the fact that the top edge of the Voyager says "XL" and has the obvious absence of the jacks that a Voyager would have and a XL would not have.
But maybe they just haven't taken a photo of this part of it yet : )
