1.Software editor!!!
Or I'm just to lazy... It is so damn hard to actually experiment with it.
It would be really cool to have a advanced program where you could reset a number of parameters and compare it with older.
2. Triplets
3. Linking 2 channels- so one can modulate another.
4. Expender, with 4 or more CV outs-channels.

Just to add my bit to the potential V3. I've come across an issue with the cv/midi send function. With all of the send parameters set to
CV Only the MP still seems to send midi data ( CC 4 & 36, which are foot cntrl and foot cntrl LSB). (Running V2.1)This appears to be happening only on Ch 4 (Ch 1 will cause the midi data LED to glow a dull red but, no data is being sent.) I have all four channels set as follows -

INITIAL STATE-ON
MODE-LFO
WAVE-TRI
LFO SYNC-TAP
LFO RATE 500
AMOUNT-0
OFFSETT-0
PEDAL MODE-AMOUNT
HEEL-0
TOE-500
LFO OFF MODE-INITIAL
INITIAL VALUE-0

I am monitoring the data stream with the midi-data monitor in Cubase, and have done this with only one channel on the MP active at a time. The data stream appears to be at the LFO rate, adding LFO offset will increase the stream. I haven't had time to look into this further than what I have noted. I would prefer not to send un-neccessary midi data (I am using the MP as my midi I/O to PC for my Voyager). Am I missing a parameter setting? Any additions, correction would be appreciated. Also just my take, it would be nice if the parameter window tracked as you switched channels in edit mode - if you are in Ch 1 lfo rate and switch to Ch2 it would jump to the lfo rate window for Ch 2.

I'd like to add a few basic but important things:

- rock solid control of Midi clock when it's a source; mine seems to drift a bit
- likewise, a translation of BPM on the display instead of just the integer from 0..4095 for rate
- a way to toggle start/stop of an LFO and more importantly solid MMC when in Quad mode; I think the issue I have is that there is no "reset", just a start/stop; it would be good to have control of both (likely I need to spend more time with this so for now just takes these as mild suggestions : )
- a smoother LFO wave which is more like a sine than a sharp triangle

Here's a good one...

- a Poly Midi-CV mode that can be run in such a way as to have any of the 4 channels setup as either a CV Frequency (as it does today) or gate so you can have 3 CVs and one gate; or identify a split and have the single key pressed below the split point assigned to channel 1 with CV Freq and channel 2 as Gate; likewise the single key above the split point same with channel 3 and 4.

I'd like to see more outputs then anything else. Like 16 mini jacks... You could maybe put four smaller buttons grouped to each of the four foot witched or something... That would make it a LOT more useful.

The MP-201 is discontinued, but people want it and want it to do more. I really hope there is a successor to the multi pedal. 4 (admittedly digital) LFO's is so useful!

All true. I have one and it IS a great unit! but.. the problem is if you want to control more then 4 things at a time without using mults then you are stuck... personally I think there NEEDS to be a unit made that can rout and control a bunch of CVs that can be controlled in the manner of the MP201.. meaning nice and smallish, have presets, usb ect... the only other units I have found [and by all means post anything like the MP201 you know of] are for modular systems or rack mounts that kind'a do it... but... right now I'm using a CP251 in conjunction with my MP201 and am planning on having someone make me a mult box to get by... still not perfect but for now... But... but.. but.. when I look at what you can do with digital control: midi/USB-computer and ithingz / smartthingz the MP201 seems clunky and out dated.. there is so much that could be done to expand the basic idea of the MP201 to where you could have a end all/be all master CV/midi controller/router. It needs to done! Too many companies are making units with CV these days to not have a MODERN way to control it all in one easy to use, easy to carry around box.. and I don't mean a laptop :P

If you want to do it right IMO, you need to start a modular system with 4 full featured LFOs. That's what I might have done and then gotten modules for ring mod and phasing instead of MF-102 and MF-103, but I am a synthesist not a guitarist. I wish the guitarists understood that they fund the manufacture of these units but the synth users have the most use of them 8)

Cheers,

True I will give you that :D
Thing is though I am seeing more and more stuff being made that will take CV control, from synths to pedals. Sure modular would be awesome but doesn't work for everyone always.. and even with those a good controller with savable settings for routings and CV parameters would be a nice thing to have.

Yeah, there's so much that could be possible. Maybe a whole untapped product market.

Hmm.. I bet you could whip up something with an Arduino pretty quick. There are already several products built with that tech...(4ms SCM for example)

It would be awesome if Moog releases something as a sequel to the Roland MC-4, musicians need desperately something that does something like it!! http://www.robotsforrobots.net/viewtopic.php?id=9629
