Sorry, but, could this guitar be any uglier?

I have to agree with Mark. However, a traditional flying V style would be quite attractive...especially with a carbon fiber pick guard and blue LED distortion wheel.

unfortunately, that's where your forearm would rest. it might look lame, but it's necessary for comfort.

I absolutely love that! Specially in white! I think having the upper carbon wing makes it look so much cooler than just a standard "V". I have always wanted a white wash flying v. I like the classic moog rocker switches too.
Im in the minority that likes the current moog guitar look (tigers eye vo and butterscotch standard are my faves) I think its very classy looking guitar, but I would like to see more body style options and the V is very high on that list.

Edit: I also like the idea of the distortion wheel. Maybe it could be similar to cranking up the drive on 3 or 4 foogers. That is like the perfect distortion in my book. Maybe a switch that would put the distortion before the filter, parallel to the filter or after the filter as well, I don't know how easy that would be to do, but im sure its not as tough as the making the initial moog guitar

Fresh look? Really? It looks like someone killed the 1980's and carved a guitar out of it!

I don't PLAY guitar...not very well, anyway...but I do LIKE guitars, and know when a guitar looks good to me...and the V design that has been proposed does NOT look good to my eyes. As for it being a fresh look, I'm pretty sure I had a Tyco guitar as a kid that looked similar to that...

Liking guitars is a fine thing, but if I hear you correctly, no matter how closely they
design it exactly to your liking, you're still not likely to buy it. But I am very likely to.

Not what I said. Of course I would buy it. Because it lends itself to playing techniques that are unorthodox, and therefore, easier for me as an unskilled individual to master. But I would NOT buy this Tyco looking thing. I rather like the black or red E-1, and as soon as I have enough $$$ to buy one, I will...unless a different design is proposed that I like.

I never have liked flying V designs for one reason, you can't sit them on your knee and play without shooting the guitar towards Mississippi.

Also, subtracting wood from the body is going to negatively affect the tone.

I certianly wouldn't buy it, not even at 800 dollars.

you've got to remember Moog is a synth company, not a guitar company. Personally, I think they need a total overhaul of the Moog guitar. Keep all the electronics and guts and working of it, but it needs a vintage-contemporary look, like an SG or Strat, no sharp edges or drastic assemmetry. They need to re-evaulate their price point as well. The guy from Garaj Mahal is so awesome, but no one's playing these because the price is way high for a GUITAR.

personally even though its well out of my price range, i dont think its over priced. there are plenty of jazz guitars that are double the price of the moog guitar. and all you get is one pick up, one volume and one tone control (and an extremely wel crafted guitar)

as far as body type, there are way too many sg/strat/lespaul/tele clones out there already so i think its great that they stayed traditional but not typical

one a side note; i always liked the Brian May (from Queen) guitar. it has very verstile electronics and is comfortable to play i think. and long befoe the moog guitar came out i wanted it in either whit wash or a natural wood grain like mahogany or walnut and replace the knobs with moog knobs and the little black switches with the classic red and blue moog style rocker switches
