No Piezo output unless plugged into GK device

Post by GreyFortress » Sat Jan 03, 2015 4:28 pm

Discovered a problem yesterday with my GK-upgraded (MIDI) Moog guitar that I hadnt come across previously because I havent used the piezo sound until recently. The piezo pickups do not put out any signal when selected/blended unless a GK cable is plugged in to the guitar and plugged in to a GK device on the other end of the cable. Even if the GK synth (GR-55/VG-99) is not powered on, plugging the cable in makes the piezo pickups output sound through the analog output of the Moog guitar pedal. Unplug the GK cable from the guitar or the GK synth and the piezo stops making sound. This is not a show stopper for me, but I'm curious if this is the way it is supposed to work... I'm guessing not?

Update: This was an issue with the Ghost pickup that was installed for the midi upgrade. James at Moog replaced the Ghost pickup and all is working great now.
