Moog Guitar Swing

Post by Crowyote » Thu Dec 27, 2012 5:38 pm

These days my main gig is playing nylon string guitar in a Western Swing band . .. not much demand in Dallas for a Moog Guitarist yet.

So, I'm adapting the repetoire to the Moog Guitar in my free time.

My first attempt is "It Don't Mean a Thing" by Duke Ellington.

Everything was recorded in one take with a Blue Yeti USB and Garage Band. It's just a demo, and I will be developing this rep as I learn more about recording and using the Moog Guitar. I'm using Stereo outs to two Bogner Heads and cabs: a Brixton and a Barcelona. The piezo out goes through a Stereo Memory Man to the Barcelona. The Lead out goes through a Supa Puss, MF-105 etc to the Brixton.

Hope you enjoy. Feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing this clip, it's nice to hear what a moog guitar can do that does not sound like someone was going for "weird ambient stuff" :)
