Question about gate/trigger input

Hello moogers,

I am curious as to whether it is possible to use the gate/trigger input to sustain a note, then also to trigger the envelopes while sustaining the note.

So, I suppose my question is, can the trigger be used independently of the gate, while open?

Are they located on different points of the TRS jack?

I assume the trigger would be located at the tip, and the gate at the ring, just curious if anyone knows.
