Ive been really tempted to get a Phatty so I can get the duophonics, but the limited number of keys on the keyboard makes me think twice.

A LPRME perhaps and I think that Id have no choise.

The LP just has a tone that is pretty distinct and I tend to like it. WHen I messed with the Filter OD it was pretty neat, but that was on a stage I and I haven't seen one in person since then.

LPRME would be fantastic!

+1, this would be mega awesome, and save me alot of tablespace. We could have all the CV input/outputs on the back, it'd be beautiful.

Don't let the keybd hold you back. If the RME is coming, by all means wait for it; the could make it in a small footprint, I would think. I likely don't have to tell you that the Octave buttons are very handy and you can easily train yourself to re-start a run up or down the keyboard while pressing the up/down buttons.

I have an Old School just beneath my LP and play both. Sure I'd love a Voyager style keyboard (size and quality) but they have to cut cornsers someplace for the target market.

One of the guys here mentioned building a mod that would have a momentary switch on left and right sides that could be used to temporarily shift the octave... obviously two hands required for that as well and I suppose that's the hard part (only so many hands and feet!)

If you have a foot free (to operate the switch), that leaves you two free hands to do whatever... even play both hands on a monophonic 37 key synthesizer Switch works on LP, Voyager for switching octaves. Works on any other CV as well, it adds or substracts 1 or 2 volts. It don't care if is pitch, volume, pan, filter or anything else.

Hello, I'm John Grabowski, and I'm both the Director of Purchasing at Sweetwater Sound and a long-time Moog fan. I thought I'd share a bit of the backstory on this special version of the Little Phatty Stage II.

A while back, a few of us were fortunate enough to travel to the Moog factory - this was while the Moog Guitar was in development. During that visit, I was brainstorming with the folks at Moog on whether they could do a special version of the Little Phatty. With all of the special versions of the Voyager that were being done, it seemed like there may be some Little Phatty fans that would like something different from the rest of the crowd.

Wood panels? We were told that wasn't an option for two reasons - first, because the first Special Edition Little Phatty had wood side panels and the folks at Moog wanted to honor the exclusivity of that version by not doing the same thing again. Also, once more connectors were added for the new features on the Stage II, the cutout in the side panel made it pretty much impossible to do wood side panels.

A different color extrusion? That could be done, we were told. There were a few colors to choose from, but we weren't thrilled with any one of them, and we let the idea simmer for a while.

Once the CV Output upgrade was introduced, we felt that a special edition could bring something more than just cosmetics to the table, and we re-opened the discussion. When it came back to the color, though, we still weren't thrilled with the options, and we asked whether the extrusion could be done in an orange color that would coordinate with the front panel lights.

The folks at Moog were able to get a sample extrusion - we loved the look, and this special edition was born. I personally think it turned out wonderfully, and now when I see the standard version, I feel kinda like Dorothy waking up at home after having seen Oz. We also understand that the special edition isn't for everyone - that's why we still have the standard version of the Little Phatty Stage II available.

I love reading all the different ideas for other versions here. I hope some of you enjoy having heard some of how our Solar CV version came to be.

I would totally have gone for the orange except I didnt really feel the need at the moment for the CV outputs and the price between the special and and regular was about $450

Great story, Felix! I wouldn't mind seeing a camouflage-backed LP in the future...just for something different. Also, black side panels would be nice. The thing about rubberized panels is that they can be offered in a variety of colors...grey, black, brown, green, red, blue...whatever. I'd opt for brown sides, myself...looks like wood without the grain, and would look good with camo.

I'd buy a fire version for sure.

Im still waiting on the rack mount version lolol.
