My LP is going crazy!

Post by Pewt » Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:46 pm

I turn it on today, the knobs don't seem to work, the lights jump around, no sound comes out... I've tried a factory restore, gonna call moog tomorrow- does anyone have any ideas before I send my LP away?

Connect your LP to a grounded power supply.

Try pushing the output button under the volume control.

It's more than the output being switched- the knobs register no input, and the lights flash erratically.

I'm going to try setting it up at a completely different location tomorrow, to see if its a grounding issue- but I'm skeptical; I've been using the LP in the same outlet for a month and encountered no problems until yesterday. But I'm not that familiar with the way bad grounding or dirty power can affect the synth.

I just hope I don't have to send it in... I contacted Moog yesterday and they said to check my grounding, and then check the internal connections...

If it's not your ground it could be a loose ground inside. The "jumping lights" has usually been a ground issue.

I think that's what it was- I moved the LP to a different outlet and did a factory reset, and everything was fine. Phew!
