I've had an MF-101 for a long time, and just this week I bought a Little Phatty. So I'm thinking now that I have the Moog sound in a complete synth, I shouldn't need the MF-101 anymore, right?
The envelope follower is nice, as is the 2-pole switch, but I just don't know if it is worth keeping. Does anyone here use a 101 along with their LP? Have you found enough uses for it? I mean, even if I want to run another synth through the Moog filter, I can do that with the LP too - and with better results due to the ADSR envelope. Thoughts?
Just got an LP....should I sell my MF-101?

I will go out on a limb here to say you will hear a resounding NO - DON'T SELL from this forum
If you need the $ - then sell. If you don't then don't sell.
There are plenty of uses for the 101 - you can run the LP through it for that matter. You can run a bass or guitar through it. You can then use the Envelope from the 101 and put that into the LP to control pitch or volume or whatever. If this is only your second piece of Moog gear I would suggest keeping both for awhile - read the moogerfooger forum here in detail and play. If you get a CP-251 you will have even more uses for the 101.

Minimoog Voyager Performer Edition + LP Stage II + Sub37 + Model D reissue + CP-251 + VX-351
I agree, there's a lot to do with the MF101. With the LP and Moogers you can build a system. Unless you are desperate for cash, the money you make selling it ($150-175) is not enough to take you too far. Hold on to the MF101 and use the CV out of it to control aspects of your LP. The envelope CV out is one of the best features about the MF101. When you start buying other Moogers you will start seeing how they work together. Inevitably you will kick yourself for selling any Moogerfooger.

No.
Think about the kind of evolving sound that you can make with a faster sample and hold on your LP's Filter cutoff combined with an extremely slow sweep of the cutoff of the 101.

I kinda figured everyone's answer would be "no", and the truth is I don't want to sell it either. I was just looking for someone to talk me out of it.
When using the 101 with other gear, I tend to use the 12dB option more, and I don't want to lose that.
I'm hopefully getting a 101 during the final Grammy sale to go with my 102, 103, and CP-251. Where I'll put it, I dunno. Who cares? I want one!
