I'm on my way to send my LP to upgrade, but just need to get a hopefully "stupid" question answered first...

-My LP does not seem to have the noise problem described by many people (which now is "fixed" by the EGR:auto feature in the new OS's). Is there any risk that the hardware upgrade could introduce the noise issue in my synth?

No, there's no risk of getting any new noise from the hardware upgrade.
The only new hardware is memory (which doesn't make any noise) and new chips which distribute the control voltages within the synth; these chips are definitely quieter/better sound quality than previous.

You could also opt to upgrade only the memory, in which case there is guaranteed no change to the audio quality you are getting now.

Kind regards,

Amos
