Volume faulty?

Hello to all, this is my 1st visit here.
I have just purchased a brand new (diplay model) Stage 1. Everything seems to working great, but one thing I have noticed, the sound only kicks in when the vol switch reaches the 2nd point (3 o'clock). I have phoned the retailers and they say it's something they have never noticed. Just wondered if anyone could give me any feedback.
Cheers
Andy

There is a master volume setting in the Advanced menu...check that out first. Maximum volume is 455. My guess is that it is not turned all the way up. Hope this helps.

I still haven't been able to find the 'Advanced Menu' on my stage 1. Have checked the downloaded manual with no success. Also, looking back on my post, I have realised that I meant to say 9 o'clock not 3. Does this change things? Please help!!

Ok, try this: go into SYSTEM UTILITIES. You will see ALL NOTES OFF. Hit the CURSOR button and use the value knob to scroll until you see HP VOL: followed by a number between 0 and 255. If 255 is displayed, the next step I would suggest is a FACTORY RESTORE. Stay in the SYSTEM UTILITIES and scroll until you see FACTORY RESTORE. It will desplay, ARE YOU SURE? Choose YES. If this doesn't work, E-mail Amos. :?

Hi

Thanks for the responses, but still no joy.

As recommended, I attempted to notify Amos but it did not successfully send my email (just sent to 'outbox' instead of 'sent').

I've attempted all recommendations (inc. manual), with no success. Please help!!

Hmm...you e-mailed him amos at moogmusic.com? And it won't let you send? Interesting. Hopefully he'll see this post and get back to you. It seems to me he's at the NAMM show for right now. Good luck!

What are you playing it through ? If you have a pair of headphone plug them into the headphone jack, is it still doing it ? If you are going into a mixer try another ch. Is there anything else in the signal path ?

Through the head phone socket using headphones, the sound starts at the 3rd point, this also occurs using a jack to the amp. When using a jack from the output on the left hand side of the unit to an amp, the sound starts at the 2nd point.

My new LP (stage 2) is the same. The volume doesn't kick in til 9 o'clock. I just thought this was normal, and it doesn't seem to bother me too much

It's been bugging the hell out of me since purchase (LP-ST1 02446). Maybe I'm just too much of a fussy bugger!
Must admit though, there is still plenty of power in turning the knob!

I had the same thing with mine, and mine is slightly past the 9 0clock position. I called and talked to a MOOG tech. He said that some...crap I can remember, something about pots being ...omg, my words fail me, but that some pots are sets slightly off at the factory. I didnt request anthing as I need to test it with several sound systems to see whats really going on. But yes, looks likw ther are several of us, and I have a sticker that reads SE04564 (thats weird, I dont have a special edition, I guess SE doesnt mean special edition)
