praxisaxis wrote:A lot of people ask why keep a Little Phatty if you have a Voyager. Because the LP can do stuff the Voyager cannot!! This tune features both instruments, both get a go at lead, although only the LP for the bass. See for yourself :)

It's a pretty silly song actually... my mum gave me a record player for my birthday so I immediately decided to make a tune out of it.
-Enjoy :) :) :)

p.s. I'm doing an animated clip for this one.

This one is a bit rough, but I like it. Just finished a few hours ago, this one has lots and lots of Little Phatty, some Casiotone, and just a few licks of Arturia's Jupiter 8 software. Hope you like it :D

Kenneth and Flippo, nice stuff! I like minimal / ambient, and Moogs are great for that sort of music.

Tell me what you all think of this:

http://soundcloud.com/cam-suarez-bitar/ ... ife-begins

http://soundcloud.com/cam-suarez-bitar/ ... d-and-poor

The first is a song I quickly wrote for my wife on her birthday. The second is a track partly inspired by the "Occupy" movement. My vocals aren't the best (as evidenced in "Standard and Poor"), but hey, this is all fun and games in the end anyway. :P

In "A New Life Begins," the lead / melody is my Minimoog Voyager Lunar Impact played through the Eventide Space pedal. The bass "bursts" are done with my Moog/Oberheim Custom through another Eventide Space, which features two Little Phattys and additional Oberheim madness. The arpeggio is done on the Nord Lead 3. Rich pads are courtesy of Omnisphere.

I usually record everything on to MIDI, then record to audio in one pass. I think of it as one live performance, in a way. Anyway, I'd appreciate some feedback.

Spitfire, interesting style you've got. It's like, a little Flock of Seagulls, with a touch of Prodigy meets Depeche Mode. I like it! Very different than what I'm used to hearing.

Hey voltor, thanks for the feedback buddy. I truly appreciate your taking the time to listen and positive words. It's funny that you'd mention those bands, especially depeche mode, as they have influenced my style quite a bit.

Do you have a page with tunes as well?

I have little improvs on Internet Archive, but not anything recent. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query ... oltor07%22

Feel free to use them, if there's samples you like. They are filed under public domain.

Cool samples man. Are you mostly making sample collections? You could probably put them all together and make some truly experimental music!

First of all, thank you! Glad you liked them. No, I'm not doing those anymore. Most of them were made on the fly, one track in GarageBand, mic'd with a Blue Snowball. I actually prefer my videos to these sounds. Videos are more fun to make, IMO, though a lot of sound quality is lost. Not that those MP3's are any better. :x Actually, when I do record something, it's to VHS tape for use in haunted houses.

This past winter I have been working on a project. An OST to a fake movie, "Death Galactic". The concept is a Zombie Sci-Fi movie. I will not go into details (it will all be explained later), but it's basically a zombie infection that has spread across a technologically advanced universe. I'm hoping to get this done by this summer. So, I thought it would be appropreate to throw together a "Trailer" (with my iPhone, so it's cheesy, but I did replace all of the app's audio with sounds from the recording sessions).

Thank you!

The above link is my project band's experimental stuff. The last 4 tracks, titled Part 1, Part 2, etc, are Covered with Little Phatty leads and sound fx. Track titled Part 4 is my favorite. The first 4 tracks, which all begin with 2 23, have zero phatty, (brought my Virus that night). All tracks were recorded live in the studio, improvised on the spot, no over-dubbing- all bleeps, mistakes, ugly notes, etc, were left as they were. Hope you enjoy at least some of it.

O.K. so I have spent the last 3-4 hours listening to tons of these songs and I am impressed! @Spitfire Standard and Poor is pretty awesome. @Praxisaxis holy crap! Elements of 8-bit games, Parliment... very nice.

So I got one to post. It is a fun one I have been messing with for a long time. I just set up a DAW to record in my free time.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

This is really good sound... I love the mid-chill-mid-jerky character of your track.
My 2 cents: about the 2 bass botes per bar, I would have mixed them hard left + hard right, you know, very stereo-ized, and a bit more present.

Bravo:)
