Firmware 3.1>3.2 Fails after 30-100 reports on SP

Hey all. Looks like there are a few questions about this on the forums already, though none very recent so I figured I'd try opening one myself.

I recently bought an SP (my second, so I can poly it with my first) and went to upgrade the firmware from 3.1 to 3.2. However, I'm getting the dreaded "Little Phatty, Boot v1.1 / Checksum Failure, Erasing Flash.../Checking for USB Module/Please Send Firmware" error. It usually pops up after anywhere between 30-100 reports, though it's been as low as 1 and high as 150.

I've tried all combinations of timing and package sizes, different usb cables and ports on my desktop, usb on my two other laptops, and via midi (Motu 128) on my desktop. No success anywhere. Thankfully, I'm always able to get it to the initial "Please Send Firmware" screen so I know I haven't bricked it as I've seen happen elsewhere...but it just always seems to fail about halfway through the report loading process.

Any suggestions/anyone else run into this? I've seen some posts that the 3.2 patch seems to give a lot of people problems and that some people have been able to fix it by only upgrading to 3.1 - which I'd be open to at this point if that fixes it. Ideally I'd like to avoid having to ship it off for repairs, but I'll do that if there's no other choice, just figured I'd throw things out here first.

Thanks!

I was able to hunt down the 3.12 firmware. It seems to work slightly better (usually 100-150 reports at 256/250), but still fails.

Is your equipment to send the SysEx tested to work with other SysEx fine?
Some Interfaces and software of MIDI players have problems with the data amount.
Some USB-hubs cause trouble on SysEx.
And yes, we had some bad cables here reported by other users when they had problems.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16
