LP Filter Pot info

Post by johnnylzr » Sat Dec 21, 2019 3:52 pm

just replaced my fliter pot because it was going bad
I've been repairing synths and other music equipment as a hobby for several years now and
this one is not too difficult if you have some experience repairing electronics
here is some info on the one i pulled out
you should be able to find a replacement using the codes
but if you want/need pics of the potentiometer feel free to PM me
i believe the shaft is 20mm
pot value B10k
an ALPHA pot
D style shaft
B1 OK
9E 4

hope this helps

Hi johnnylzr,

it's always good to organize some spares for the future...
That's why I'd also like to know how to interpret the potentiometer specs you mentioned.

Following facts seem to be clear:
- pot is PCB mounted
- B10K (10 kOhms linear)
- D style shaft (which diameter?)
while
- "9E 4"
still needs some explanation.

I guess you took the information from a very specific datasheet which won't match with anything I've found so far.
Do the last two values eventually refer to the total shaft length and the length of the knob depth etc.?
Maybe you could help here any further, e.g. by specifying the whole ALPHA product string (or sending the link to the product and/or datasheet) in order to find the related part at Digi-key, Mouser or any other stores.

Thanks a lot! Appreciate your contribution!
