Little Phatty vs. Voyager?

Post by NativeTheory » Thu Mar 30, 2006 11:54 am

Will there be a noticeable difference between these two synths? If I have a Voyager is there any need to look at the Little Phatty?

I read that it uses Voyager oscs and filter, so the sound should be pretty identical (except it using one filter - which will probably make it sound a bit more clearer than the voyager's dual lp filter output).
It will be much more practical for band practices and gigs, which is why I have ordered one. I think you should too.

If you already own a voyager I could see you getting the lp for performances and stuff. If not then I see no need (collector perhaps). Spend your money on a DSI mono evolver if you've got the money to burn then.

Why am I getting one?

1: Too scared to use my Voyager live. It was a £2700 synth after all. I use my Prophet-5 live, and it was half the price of the Voyager.

2: Need something simpler to take with me everywhere. All my synths are a bit large and bulky, but the Pro-One is a bit fragile to gig regularly.
