LP Stage1 MIDI not working and questions about USB Upgrade

Hi all,

I have an LP Stage 1 running OS 1.03SC 147. I bought this cheap VicTsing USB/MIDI connection off amazon:

It seems the phatty's ins/outs aren't working. When I send a signal from a pc, the device lights up, but it never hits the phatty, and when I play any key on the phatty, the input LED on the device doesn't move. I have tried both PC and Mac.


Finally, if I purchase the field upgrade for the LP stage I to stage II, does it come with the new side panel to accommodate the shifted DIN and added USB? Or is that something I have to cut myself.
